A Few of My Favorite Things
Hello from Miss Dougher:Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Miss Colleen Dougher (say "do-er") and I am the 1st grade teacher at St. Gregory the Great School! Mrs. Young and I cannot wait to meet each one of you! First of all, here is my contact information: [email protected] If you have any specific questions, please feel free to email me. I do my best to respond to emails as soon as I can. This is the beginning of my third year at St. Gregory the Great and I couldn't be more thankful for the supportive and positive faculty and administration here! I received my B.A. in History at Grove City College in Grove City, PA. I also have my Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Education from Loyola Marymount University. In addition to all of that, I just started the Credential Clearance program through San Diego State University. It's very good for me to be a formal student again because it keeps me sharp! Before I came to St. Gregory the Great, I taught throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for 5 years in several grades. My passion is for literacy education, however, which is one of the reasons that I am so happy to be working in First Grade! When I'm not tutoring, lesson-planning or grading (which is almost never, but there's always summer...), I love to run, cycle and bake. I thrive on a steady diet of British literature and Trader Joe's snacks. I grew up in Long Beach and still love living there! My favorite Teacher Appreciation gifts to get are gift cards to any of the following places that provide teacher fuel: Teachers Pay Teachers, Trader Joe's, any pizza place, and Michael's! My goal for our class is to love Christ and each other through learning. |

I work very hard to maintain a positive classroom environment where the needs of every learner are met. I love to incorporate music and movement as I strive to reach every type of learner!
I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Please feel free to email me if you have any specific questions about the year that are not answered at Back to School Night!
